Hi Guys, Hello to all the great staff at Scholars !! spent 4 or five nights there over Christmas 07 Great pint of Guinness, great food, and the all the staff were so friendly,special thank you to Swedish Girl (sorry forgot your name) very helpful and friendly. note to Declan give her a rise LOL.. my wife and I had a great time. buongiorno!was recently in rome in feb 08, first tme abroad on my own, and as well as rome being a fantastic place, the scholars bar helped to make the trip. great service, vdery friendly staff, nice pint. going abroad again in oct for mt 40th, and am thinking of spending the evening of my 40th in the scholars bar.
Well Scholars, prob dont remeber me Declan?? Me, james and colin enjoyed your company back in October 2006 (3 mad fuckers from Dundalk), what a session we had!! Hope to pop into you during the summer.
3rd visit to Rome in past 18 months-got married there last June and spent my wedding night at your pub. Also had a great lock in for a Ricky Hatton fight. Without doubt the best pub around! Headin back over on Sunday-i take it you will be showing the Italy-Spain match. Cant wait!! yeee-ha!
Great website Declan and the pub looks fab., just looking it up cause we were sending friends in for a pint this weekend - Flor coming over all nostalgic for his old job…. Glad 2 c things looking so successful - hopefully we’ll make it over 4 a pint b4 too long,

Was over in Rome for the rugby game 3 weeks ago and spent a lot of time in this pub! Congradulations, you have really got it right- great establisment! Makes a change to see a real Irish pub abroad!
hi guys, was ova 2 weeks ago, called in 4 lunch wi my son & folks (wheelchair) huge thx 2 strong guy who lifted wheelchair up step 4 us. gr8t food, fab pint. my son luved ur chicken burger.!! best thing since bacon & cabbage (he’s 7 in 2 weeks) keep up the good work - clair & family in Offaly
Rome is a great place at daytime but after that you need Scholars! I say it after spending 11 month there. Nice staff, good music, friendly place. If I go back I won’t visit Colosseum again but I’ll drink some beers at Sholars for sure!
Yes, Unfortunately we were closed for some un-expected maintenance but we are now open for business as usual. Sorry to have missed you…maybe next time!
My son Eoghan and I were in Rome for the first time last week and we loved The Scholars Lounge. We chose to spend our last night in Rome with you guys and it was a good choice. I must say that I have never had a baked tattie served in the shape of a swan before. Class! I especially liked all of the literary quotes you have around the place. Food for thought too…goes great with the Merlot. We miss you now we are back in Scotland. See you next time we’re in Rome!
I like this pub, was the only bar in the whole of Rome that had the GAA on last weekend. The grub and craic was very good too. you need to buy up the other irish pubs there and make something decent out of them.
